Our global partner is the Lwala Community Alliance. Located in a rural area in Western Kenya, this organization was founded by Kenyan brothers Milton and Fred Ochieng’, subjects of the documentary film “Sons of Lwala”. While the brothers were in college in the United States, they lost both of their parents to AIDS. Milton and Fred took this as a call to action to provide access to primary care in their home village and opened the Lwala Community Hospital, where more than 30,000 patient visits are provided each year. This body of work has grown significantly since 2007 to serve a population of more than 20,000 people and employ 180 Kenyans.
With this growth comes larger need for infrastructure, which is where T | B Cares can help! "The success of Lwala lies in the hands of our staff. A lack of onsite housing in the village affects the response time to emergencies and limits the ability to attract top medical staff needed as the demand in the community continues to grow. Having medical physicians onsite is an integral part of our growth." - Milton & Fred Ochieng
TB Cares has committed to partner with the Lwala Community Alliance in filling this need.
Our goal in 2018 was to build 1 Multi-Family building that will act as Staff Housing for medical professional to live while they serve patients in the community's hospital. This Staff Housing allows over 20,000 people have 24-hour emergency care.
In September of 2018, Tadlock Brueggemann Real Estate hosted a Trivia Night and Silent Auction benefiting T | B Cares: Housing with Heart.
In September of 2017 our team, alongside of thousands of other Keller Williams agents from over 13 countries around the world, mobilized to help the families of Houston in need. Our office, Keller Williams Realty St. Louis, raised over $40,000 to help aid the relief efforts in support of Keller Williams International Realty’s commitment to give $20 Million for Hurricane Recovery. We are grateful to be a part of such a philanthropic company.
RED Day, which stands for Renew, Energize and Donate, is a global day of service. We worked with Rebuilding Together St. Louis and helped the Neal family by renovating their home. Throughout the day our team, alongside 60 associates from Keller Williams St. Louis, worked together on the project.
In 2019, we are committed to partnering with local charities right here in St. Louis to rebuild homes in our local communities. If there is someone you know that could use a helping hand, please reach out to us. We are excited to work with awesome local charities and organizations, like Rebuilding Together St. Louis, to make a positive impact in our communities.
